I am awfully sorry Ladies and Gents but I am afraid I have got to dash ! Towards were I am heading is probably clear by now : a very small B&B in a vineyard in Southern Piemonte, home of harmonious names such as Nebbiolo, Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera and Dolcetto. Just looking for some peace and quiet, taking with me some books and hoping to have a great time with the wife and kids. And to get into the right atmosphere for this summer break, I took the liberty to select the following little gems to translate my "deeper inner thoughts", as they say :

1) Gabriel Yared - soundtrack The English Patient - "I will always go that church" : A small village and a magical church visit. And for those wanting to smell the sea early in the morning at al fresco breakfast, we give you the Yared bonus track "Italia" coming from TheTalented Mr Ripley.

2) Ennio Morricone - soundtrack Novecento - "Romanza" : Not that I am a Bertolucci fan but here it involves an epic story - though sometimes somewhat naive - with some brilliant scenes. During this village funeral scene, they play this piece of music. For me Ennio's most finest hour, with all the resonance of Verdi, human dignity and pride.

"Salute" and see you in a couple of weeks
