Dear good old "Ironhorse", this is "Sniper" calling. And the reason I am calling is twofold. First as a gesture of my appreciation for your e-mail late Friday night. Second, this is your daily wake up call because money never sleeps. So I take you out for a day at the races or more precisely, I will escort you at the start of yet another volatile trading session.

Now who are we racing against ? Well, in the box, the following horses are getting nervous for the start : "The Duke of Leverage", "Lady Vix", "Fearless Fibonacci", "Get Shorty", "Mr Margin Call", "It's a long shot", "Mario Dragonfly", "Ben's money drop", "Yogi Yen Bear","Long straddle","Dr Squeeze", "Diamond Copperhead", "Black Gold" and "Precious little metal". I don't think you have to fear the competition, in fact some are not racing against you, au countraire ! Now in order to have a winning chance in today's race, we need some instigators to get that adrenaline flowing. And knowing your interest for basic R&B and R&R, I picked out the following play list, just to make sure we are awake and think straight when the Manhattan bell rings at 10 am !

1) We start out with a great live performance of a classic, taking place at Scheveningen beach, probably familiar home ground to Ironhorse when he was a kid during summer holidays.

2) Now we go over to your present habitat, a California desert drive-in. And with it my kids will be happy as well. And Frisco off we go, life is a highway and we are gonna ride and trade all night long, as Lightning McQueen.

3) Track 3, and we have the intro sound of a flaming horse in gallop. Yes, Ironhorse, the race is on, clear blue skies ahead but stay focused now. The finish line is now clearly visible with the siren call of the chequered flag at 12 o'clock. And as a trader you will like it because like 10CC's Wall Street Shuffle riff, it has also that harsh guitar slash, the sound we like, the sound of yet another killer trade gone well. Come on and dance, come on come on !

4) Holy cow, I think he's gonna make it !! You will get the last word, Ironhorse, crossing the finish line, still in allegro momentum, with Randy Bachman Turner Overdrive.

So let's get into overdrive and when all seems lost, you can always find some witty inspiration in the following link. Some of my favorites include "I don't feel very well, I need a doctor immediately, ring the nearest golf course !" ; "It ain't necessary to have relatives in Kansas City to be unhappy"

http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/g/groucho_marx.html

So Ironhorse, good luck in this week's bargain hunting, like the U-boot commanders used to wish one another : "Fette Beute !". Sniper says "over and out"

Senior member of the FDP, Joerg-Uwe Hahn, has told Die Welt the German government should assess whether bond purchases by the ECB warrant a lawsuit at the European Court of Justice.
The official says the ECB may be violating the EU’s Lisbon treaty if it buys bonds

When justice turns a blind eye....but then again we know about that. But you are right ,law and justice doesn't equal righteousness.De mens zou er zowaar tandtpijn van krijgen.

Er staat hier iets te veel op het spel want het domino spel reikt verder dan EMU lidstaten. When EMU falls, chances are the fate of the EU is sealed as well.

Pest & cholera; rock & hard place...

Vervang in hetvolgende 'song' door 'euro' of 'europe': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKN6lYU5bZ4

              @Kris,
Indeed, pest & cholera, Scylla & Charibdis : the key question usually boils down to "how far are you willing to go, which sacrifices to make to avoid the uncertainty of the alternative ?"

Hmmmmm,The right way to do this is to change the Lisbon treaty now.But the problem is France I guess.Promise my to give your kids a good education and a lust to wander and explore.Empires may come and go but the need for talent remains.

I agree but reality rarely is "true", "honest" and "right". We indeed have to nurture these ideals in educating our kids. Eerlijkheid duurt het langst. But in the meantime, you are gonna get scr?!wed big time on many occasions

        @ Christof

Well, if exotic betting is permitted... For my Tierce I'll take "Mario Dragonfly" as my Banker and choose three Legs from the field based on Form
In that case the pay out would depend on the pot

If you only have Win/Place plain vanilla... I'll go with "Mario Dragonfly" and shop around for the best odds with the bookies
