Labour market in Wallonia - update
Manpower published its quarterly, and very interesting, international job market indicators. For most countries, a detailed analysis is shown of the hiring intentions, and the division over different sectors.
What struck me in the Belgian survey is the difference between Wallonia and Flanders. Where the labour market in Flanders shows clear cyclical swings, the labour market in the southern part of Belgium shows almost no swings at all. There is no other country or region in the world, where the labour market is as anaemic as in Wallonia. In fact, the labour market in Wallonia seems as good as dead.
The post has been icked up by the RTBF, and is a subject of discussion.
