Friday Fun : Have a laugh and jump into the abyss !

Remember those pre-2007 days ? We were all happy, lending ourselves rich, stock market was booming, sky was the limit and life was ahead of us. Unfortunately things turned out quite differently. But nevertheless, it seems that even important policy makers, being faced with difficult choices, had a great laugh too. We picked up the following graph, showing how even boring central bankers seemed to have had a great time during FOMC meetings. And the longer the bubble continued, the more funny it became :

All too human and easy to understand. Painful nevertheless and a lesson in humility. So we conclude our last week's journey into religion with the next song. Sometimes you better not laugh and certainly not with God. Though God has a special sense of humor and God can be so hilarious, just listen to Regina :
Entering financial crisis year 5 but may be, who knows, in 5 years time we have plenty of fun fun fun, sun sun sun, love, love, love, have a walk in the zoo, have a drink or two, and be happy just to be there with our beloved ones. Sounds great to me and looking forward to it.
Cheers and have a great weekend

You're damn right, mr van halen deserves a place. Not for jump, but for instance for "beat it" from good old wacko jacko. They asked various guitar gods to play the solo and virtually all said "impossible", santana and others included. Eddy said "no problem"

I guess some people think it is a safer coin flip choice to think that they can laugh with or at God than to have to contemplate the alternative of God laughing at them.
Regina brings back a lot of fond Australian road trip memories as the scale and scope of this crisis was emerging in February-March of 2007, especially of a 2.09 m tall Canadian guy hitting all the high notes on "Fidelity"

One of my favorite Jazz pieces is Dave Brubeck's "Take Five". Last week I've learned that when they were in Belgium they played a 7.25 minute version of it

The long version is double as long as the original.-

Do you know of the Thracian philosophia behind the building of the Aya Sophia which is now in Istanbul?
Sophia (Wisdom) had three daughters: Pistis (Trust, Honesty, Good Faith) was the eldest; then came Elpis (Expectation, Comfort in hardship); and the youngest was Agape (Passion for what you choose to do)
Or as a religious person might put it simply - without Faith there can be no Hope... Love then comes and completes that "Divine" Trinity in everything
Dante's Divine Comedy - the keynote of Hell is Caritas which is equated with Pity; in Purgatory is Spes (Hope); and in Paradiso is Fides (Trust, Reliability, Fidelity)... those are the Roman equivalents -
